Blue Dolph Pemuteran was founded by two local fishermen, Abdul and Poer, together with Abdul’s son, Dayat, a university student. On May 2, 2025, they conducted a small research project by speaking directly with international travelers visiting North West Bali. From these conversations, they discovered a surprising gap: no hotels or tour companies were offering dolphin tours in Pemuteran, even though local fishermen had long known that the waters here are home to many dolphin species such as Spinner Dolphins, Common Bottlenose Dolphins, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, Fraser’s Dolphins, Long-finned Pilot Whales, and Risso’s Dolphins. Occasionally, even majestic whales like Sperm Whales and Bryde’s Whales pass through Pemuteran’s waters.Recognizing this unique opportunity, they officially launched Blue Dolph Pemuteran on May 10, 2025. With courage and simple tools, they promoted their small business through social media, Google Maps, and a basic website, while also partnering with local homestays and guesthouses to reach more visitors. What started with a single dolphin tour quickly grew into a variety of marine experiences. Today, Blue Dolph Pemuteran offers not only Dolphin Watching Tours, but also Fishing Trips, Spearfishing Adventures, Snorkeling Tours in Pemuteran and Menjangan Island, as well as relaxing Sunrise and Sunset Boat Cruises.Over time, guests began booking tours—some through the website, others through local recommendations. Soon, more fishermen expressed interest in joining. The team guided these new members, teaching them how to serve guests respectfully, sharing knowledge about sustainable tours, and even encouraging them to learn English to better connect with international visitors. From this journey, Blue Dolph Pemuteran grew not just as a tour operator, but as a community-driven initiative—empowering local fishermen, creating new opportunities, and inspiring pride in the rich marine life of Pemuteran. Today, the team believes this small beginning will continue to grow, offering unforgettable experiences for travelers while opening doors for the local community to thrive in sustainable marine tourism.
