Eel Garden
Trip Time: ±35 minutes Current: Slight to strong Overview: A stunning wall dive leading into a channel known for big fish and beautiful coral.Details: This site starts on a steep reef wall and ends in a sandy valley known as the “Eel Garden,” home to hundreds of garden eels swaying in the current. Along the way, look for pygmy seahorses, groupers, Napoleons, trevally, and even sharks. One route leads to the Blue Lagoon, while another heads through Triggerfish Alley. If currents are strong, drift gently and enjoy the ride. on calm days, you can continue to “The Aquarium,” a beautiful coral maze full of life.
Dream Wall
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to medium, sometimes strong Overview: A breathtaking vertical wall with dramatic drop-offs and colorful coral gardens. Details: This site offers spectacular coral formations and sponges clinging to the wall, with reef fish darting in and out of crevices. Look for moray eels, angelfish, turtles, and occasionally pelagic species cruising in the blue. On calm days, it’s a relaxed drift dive with wide-angle photo opportunities.
Anchor Wreck
Trip Time: ±35 minutes Current: Slight to moderate Overview: A drift dive with a deep wreck, rich coral walls, and plenty of fish life.Details: This dive features steep coral slopes and walls, with beautiful marine life and great conditions for drift diving. The site is named after a large anchor in 5m of water that marks the start of several routes. If you follow the chain down to about 30–40m, you’ll find an old 19th-century shipwreck. It's deep, and best suited for experienced divers, but full of history, coral, and sometimes sharks.
Sandy Slopes
Trip Time: ±35 minutes Current: Gentle to medium Overview: A gentle slope of white sand dotted with coral patches and unique critters.Details: Known for macro photography, this site hides frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, and ghost pipefish. Watch the sandy bottom closely for stingrays, garden eels, and blue spotted rays. It’s a relaxed dive or snorkel site, perfect for spotting smaller species.
Post III - Left Side (Coral Garden)
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to moderate Overview: A gentle dive with white sandy bottom and scattered coral formations, full of small reef fish.Details: This area has a sloping reef that gets deeper the farther you go. perfect for exploring coral gardens and schools of fish. A long jetty leads to Menjangan’s historic temple complex, which is worth a visit if you're taking a break from diving. You’ll need to dress modestly (a towel wrap is usually enough) if entering temple grounds. This site is also great for snorkeling and is often calmer during the summer when winds pick up elsewhere.
Post III - Right Side
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to moderate Overview: A wall dive with plenty of hiding spots for marine life and excellent visibility.Details: This dive heads the opposite way from Coral Garden, along a vertical reef wall that curves toward Post II. You’ll find many small caves and crevices along the wall. In shallow areas, especially around the Bat Caves, you might see triggerfish nesting during the rainy season. watch your distance as they can get territorial. Outside the season, it’s a peaceful, scenic dive.
Temple Slopes
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current:Slight to strong depending on tide Overview: A sloping reef near Menjangan’s temple, combining culture and marine beauty.Details: The slope features a mix of soft and hard corals with bommies that attract reef fish. Schools of snappers, fusiliers, and sweetlips hover here, while nudibranchs hide among the corals. Above water, the coastal temple adds a scenic touch.
Bat Caves
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to strong Overview: A dramatic wall dive with a chance of spotting big fish. Above the water, caves house bats.Details: This wall dive can have strong currents and is usually done as part of a drift from Post II. The underwater wall offers great marine life, while the caves above water are home to hundreds of bats. and the occasional sea snake. The caves are also fun to explore while snorkeling.
Post II
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to strong Overview: Scenic dive along a dramatic wall with crevices, caves, and big fish.Details: Turning left from Post II leads you into an area of steep gullies, caves, and deep walls. It’s a great spot to find groupers, snapper, barracuda, and, occasionally, manta rays or whale sharks. Sunlight filtering through the caves gives the site a surreal, cathedral-like feel. Excellent for both diving and snorkeling.
Under Water Cave
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to moderate Overview: Wall dive with a deep blue backdrop and lots of marine life.Details: This site is further along from Post II and is a great continuation dive. You’ll find dramatic drop-offs, marine life-rich walls, and coral that extends well beyond the main buoy. You can also head toward the mangrove zone as the reef transitions into a slope.
Blue Corner
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current:Medium to strong Overview: A thrilling dive spot where currents bring big pelagic fish.Details: Expect to see schools of trevally, barracuda, and sometimes reef sharks patrolling the area. The coral formations are rich, and sea fans add color to the wall. Great for experienced divers who enjoy drift diving with a chance of big fish encounters.
Mangrove Point
Trip Time: ±30 minutes Current: Slight to Medium Overview: A unique reef site near Menjangan’s mangroves with great biodiversity. Details: The shallow reef is teeming with juvenile fish, nudibranchs, and colorful coral bommies. Snorkelers love this site for its calm water and vibrant life. Hawksbill turtles are occasionally spotted here among the seagrass beds.
Post I
Trip Time: ±40 minutes Current: Slight to moderate Overview: A sandy slope dive, more suited for snorkeling or surface breaks than deep exploration.Details: Located near the main warden station and jetty, this is a good spot for rest or snorkeling. The slope from 16–18 meters leads to deeper areas with scattered coral. You can explore eastward toward mangroves or west toward the channel. During the rainy season, manta rays have occasionally been spotted drifting in from the Eel Garden.
